Indications:
Contraindications/Precautions:
Electrode Placement: Crisscross with area to be stimulated in the center of the “X” |
Procedures: 1. Slowly increase intensity 2. Ask about pins and needles feeling increase current until feels more comfortable 3. Chronic pain – use low pulse rate (1-5 pps). Acute pain – use high pulse rate (80-200 pps) 4. Dosage: use maximal current that is comfortable to patient 5. Length of application: 20-30 min. 6. Frequency of application: Once or twice daily as needed for pain 7. Duration of therapy: Can use until no longer effective |
1. Set pulse rate (<10 pps for edema and chronic pain. >30 pps for disuse atrophy and spasm reduction)
2. Set duty cycle
3. Dosage: use maximal current that is comfortable to patient
4. Length of application: 10-30 min.
5. Frequency of application: Once or twice daily (separated by 3-4 hours)
6. Duration of therapy: Can use until active exercise is fully begun
